26.06.18 Tromsø-Djupvik

92 km, 5:05 cycling, average speed 18,1 km/h, total ascent 887m, net ascent 0 m

Took my bike to the bike repair man this morning, and he repaired the wheel. It turned out four spokes were broken, so good it was repaired. He also re-engineered my front pack, which he did not think was mounted correctly. Great service, if you have a problem with your bike in Tromsø, go to Basecamp.

So late departure, around 11:30. Reached the 15:05 ferry from Breivikeidet to Svensby (Lyngen), but it was 10 minutes delayed. This made it hard to reach the 16:45 ferry from Lyngseidet to Olderdalen. And I didn't, I reached it at 15:47 - but it was slightly delayed, so I still made it...

Intended to spend the night in a hut at Olderdalen, but the huts were no longer in use. There is a hotel (kind of) there, but it was expensive and did not look attractive. So I moved on hoping to find something - with putting up the tent "anywhere" as fallback solution. The weather was nice, and so was the forecast. I found a small camping place, so tonight I use the tent again, first time since Lindesnes. Then I haven't carried it all the way for nothing after all. Great place with a wonderful view of the Lyngen Alps.

Of course, once the tent was put up, it started to rain, as always. But not so much, so let's hope it is dry tomorrow morning.

It looks like a lot up and down today also, but not "major" climbs, so an easy day

Goodby Tromsø!
I was complaining about the lack of information for bikes, but it gets better further north. But you can't trust there is a sign at every "decicion making point".  You must really follow up the route yourself.
The man and his bike

A slightly special bridge before the first ferry. At this stage there as some light rain

More of the Lyngen Alps on the road to Lyngseidet

Not a bad spot for the tent
