One week done and about 760 km. Soon halfway from Trondheim. Northern Norway is large.
A rainy day, but I reached Lofoten as planned, so satisfied with the day.
Started at 07:15 to make sure I reached the ferry that left Bodø at 16:00. Rain and a strong tailwind. The wind ceded, but rain showers most of the day. Found a camping kiosk with a piece of cake before nine, and a petrol station with a sausage later. Main point is to sit inside. Another lunch in a bus stop. Reached the ferry with 40 minutes margin. Weather at Lofoten is fair enough, a bit chilly but unfortunately low hanging clouds. Ferry arrives at 20:00, then cycled to Reine, installed myself, had dinner and a shower - so I am late.
Again an awful lot of ascent, most on one day of the whole trip since Trondheim in fact. Hope Lofoten is a bit flatter.
Not many pictures. The main issue (apart from mainly wanting to move on when it is raining) is that my gloves are soaked at it feels it takes minutes to take them off and on to take a picture. These expensive Sealskinz gloves were expected to keep you dry - far from. But they do keep you warm, which is not bad.
In spite of the weather, there were numerous beautiful views - the trip is still great!

Reduced the size a bit to include Lofoten. Ferry takes 4 hours. It is infamous because the waves from the soutwest make it moving quite a bit, resuling in seasickness. But everything went well today.

It feels like an interval training. A couple of minutes hard work (sometimes many), then a short rest. Not much flat and easy biking here.

Kjellingstraumen bridge (found the picture on Internet). Not so nice weather today, but good impression of the landscape.

Not so far from Saltstraumen, a strong tidal flow

There are a lot of these in the road side here, I don't know them, can someone help?

Well done Gerard! I guess it's quite typical weather for the Lofoten area? But a very nice view of the bridge and the hill in the clouds!
