Then a quiet and beautiful ride along the river Ryck from Greifswald towards the coast.

Continuing through a varied landscape with agriculture, coast and the sea. And surprisingly often through forests.
Arriving in Lubmin, here is a supermarket, thought to buy a few items. But I messed up the route a bit and had to return, added 5-6km.
Continuing to Wolgast and crossing a bridge across the Peenesborn. Here the Eurovelo urn over Peenemünde, but I took directly to the north east to save some km. Here you cross a narrow stretch of land between the sea and the water on the inside. But from the forest you see neither 😊.

After Lubmin, I passed the remains of the Greifswald nuclear power plant. This was built in the DDR period, but never commissioned. According to Wikipedia, sill 1000 people are now (35 years after) working at the decommissioning. My guidebook indicates an annual cost of 4 billion. I'm not necessarily against nuclear power, but the total costs should be considered. And in Norway it is not needed.

And remember that driving remains dangerous.

Continuing through the beach resorts of Bansin, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck, before crossing the border to Poland on a perfect bike path. Finally Poland, my second milestone - almost exactly 1000km.

Coming to Świnoujście, where I have to wait for a ferry to continue. First you pass the LNG terminal.
This terminal is very important for Poland's energy security, and appears to be secured by the police. When looking a bit, I was told that I could not pass (which I did not intend anyway).
After that 5-6km of sand track, followed by somewhat better, upaved paths. It all went well until I approached the beach and had to pass a dune of, say 10m high with loose sand. Suddenly my blood sugar was non-exsisting, and even after some nuts and chocolates I was barely able to push my 40kg bike up - but I managed in the end. Around six and afer 123km I finally arrived in Międzyzdroje where I booked a room in a villa. It was a little longer than I intended, Google claimed 90km, but took another road. But it went well anyway, after some food i'm fine again.
Ending the day with a good meal and a beautiful sunset.
123km in 10 hours. active time 7:47.
Total 1006km.
