The ascent starts shortly after Fagernes, and continues more or less until shortly before Bygdin at 1160, where there is a short descent to 1060 and so up again to 1389. That is the steepest part.

I was there at 1500 after 75 km and decided this was not a full day. Found a hut in Randsverk, another 35 km, mostly downhill. Although I was surprised to find that the also was another 200m ascent.
Arriving at the camping, it turned out there was no hut after all. This is bad enough when you drive a car, but after 110 km and 1500 m ascent, you don't have that many posibilities. However, the very nice people running the place improvised something and I had a nice evening chatting with them.
