Late start wit a lot of procrastination as I was not very keen to move out in the cold, wind and rain. But once I did, indeed it rained and blew, but both less than expected and then the cold was less bothersome also. And the weather improved throughout the day, so while I'm writing the sun is shining.
Starting the day with a great Polish breakfast. I'm travelling quite a lot and "used" to hotel breakfasts - but this one was totally different and really good.

The first two hours it was indeed raining and blowing, but from the side or slightly behind. Again there was mostly forest. so I did not feel it that much anyway.

Coffee+ in Mielno, 30km. Then to Lazy, and then away from the sea for a while. Here the landsacape is more like what I saw in Germany before reaching the coast. Passing Osieko abd Rzepkowo with a characteristic church.

Then lunch in a busstop. If you have followed my blog before you'll know they are my favourites in bad weather.

On a few stretches there are fences along the bike path for no obvious reason - it is not different than anywhere else. Strange.

Then arriving in Darłówko, a nice old city. But cities are a bit obsolete on rainy Sundays, and Poland has strict Sunday closure laws.

And then a few last km to Darłówo, the seaside resort close by, where I booked a simple hotel.
I'm very impressed by the high standard bike lanes in Poland. Apart from the first few km in Poland, it is very comfortable to cycle here, better than in Germany, which has quite a few bumpy stretches.

What was the busstop lunch like? Raw potatoes?

ReplyDeleteStandard. Bread (still the German variant) with sausage and cheese. Sometimes jam. With bad weather I prepare in the morning, with good weather on site, but then not in a busstop 😀
ReplyDeleteAlready 1180 km on the bike, amazing performance. And some to go..👊
ReplyDeleteWish you a bit better weather and lots of fun😊
